Itinerary

Day 1:Fes - Middle Atlas - Merzouga

Your 2 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga begins in the morning with pick-up from your hotel or riad after breakfast. Leaving Fes behind, the road leads south through the scenic landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains.

The first stop is Ifrane, a charming town known for its alpine-style architecture, clean streets, and cool climate,  often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco. After taking photos and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, continue to Azrou, where you’ll walk through the cedar forest and encounter the friendly Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon, cross the TiziN’Talghoumt Pass, descending toward Errachidia while enjoying breathtaking views over the Ziz Valley, one of Morocco’s longest and most impressive palm-filled valleys. Several stops are made for panoramic views and photos.

Later in the day, pass through Aoufous and Erfoud, a town well known for fossils and date production, with the option to visit a local fossil workshop. By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert.

Here, camels await to take you on a memorable trek across the orange dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets over the desert, ride your camel toward the camp, soaking in the silence and beauty of the Sahara. Upon arrival, settle into your traditional nomadic tent, enjoy a delicious dinner, and gather around the campfire to experience lively Berber drum music under a sky filled with stars. Overnight in the desert camp.

Day 2:Merzouga Desert - Ziz Valley - Fes

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, a peaceful and unforgettable moment in the heart of the Sahara. After breakfast at the camp, enjoy time to freshen up before leaving the desert.

Return from the camp by camel or 4×4, where your driver will be waiting. Begin the journey back to Fes, retracing the scenic route through desert landscapes, palm oases, and mountain roads. Stops will be made along the way for photos, short breaks, and free time for lunch.
