3 Days Desert Tour From Fes To Marrakech

Day 1:Fes - Middle Atlas - Ziz Valley - Merzouga

Your 3 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech begins in the morning with pick-up from your hotel or riad in Fes. Leaving the city behind, the road heads south through the beautiful landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains.

The first stop is Ifrane, a peaceful town with alpine-style architecture and clean streets, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco. After a short break and photos, continue to Azrou, where you’ll explore the cedar forest and see Barbary macaques living freely among ancient trees.

After lunch along the route, the journey continues toward the Sahara Desert, passing through Midelt and descending into the impressive Ziz Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and dramatic contrasts between greenery and desert terrain. Several scenic stops allow you to admire the valley from panoramic viewpoints.

By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, where the vast dunes of Erg Chebbi rise on the horizon. Here, you’ll begin a camel trek across the golden sands, enjoying the peaceful rhythm of the desert as the sun sets over the dunes. Upon reaching the desert camp, settle into your tent and enjoy sandboarding, followed by a traditional dinner. The evening continues with Berber drum music and singing around the campfire, before spending the night under a sky full of stars.

Day 2:Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness a stunning sunrise over the Sahara dunes, a truly unforgettable moment. After breakfast at the camp, return to Merzouga village by camel or 4×4 to meet your driver.

The journey continues westward, passing through Erfoud, a town known for its fossil workshops, and El Jorf, famous for its ancient irrigation systems. As the scenery changes, you’ll notice traditional Berber villages, fertile oases, and dramatic rock formations along the way.

Arrive at the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls rise sharply on both sides of a crystal-clear river. Enjoy free time to walk through the gorge, take photos, and relax before lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, continue toward the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades and following the green river that cuts through rugged mountain landscapes. Arrival in the evening at a charming local lodge, where dinner and overnight accommodation await.

Day 3:Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

After breakfast, depart the Dades Valley and drive through the fragrant Rose Valley, famous for its seasonal rose fields and traditional villages. Continue toward Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara and Morocco’s film capital. Stop for photos at Kasbah Taourirt, and optionally visit the Atlas Film Studios.

Later, arrive at the iconic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most impressive fortified villages. Enjoy free time to explore its narrow alleys, ancient buildings, and panoramic viewpoints before lunch.

In the afternoon, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi N’Tichka Pass, with several stops along the way to admire the views and take photos of Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides.
